Kindness

Several months ago, I was at an appointment and just happen to look around the room, only be to shocked. I was amazed to see everyone sitting in the waiting area with their face planted in their phones. Not judging by no means because I was going to begin playing a game on my phone to waste time. Though, we all were just sitting several feet apart, in reality, we were miles apart.

When you share a smile with a stranger in passing or small talk about something funny, it’s really genuine. I can usually strike up a conversation with someone. Always like to treat someone the way I would like to be treated. I recall attempting to load a shelf in my SUV, hoping not to break a nail or having the basket roll away into another vehicle, received help from a couple out of the kindness of their hearts.

Over the last few years, turning on the television, seems every channel has so much hurt, pain, sadness, madness and brutality. No wonder our phones feel like a breath of fresh air. Taking a step away from reality is well worth the break, even if it’s only for a brief period.

2 Peter 1:7. And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

As we go through our daily routines, I pray we don’t become so engrossed in our phones and not pay attention to our surroundings. It will be so sad to miss something. It doesn’t cost a thing to show kindness and love to one another. Holding the door for the next person. Stopping at the stop sign at a pedestrian crosswalk.

Prayer: Lord God, as we go through daily routines, I ask that you keep us in your perfect peace. Help us to show love to one another as you love us. In Jesus name, Amen.
